The Boulder County United Recreational program is the foundation of our club and available to players aged U9-U19, regardless of experience and ability. The program places an emphasis on skills development and sportsmanship in a fun and safe environment for all.

Teams are formed based on age, gender, friends and friend groups, proximity of training locations to players’ home’s or school’s, and or coach requests wherever possible.  No tryouts are required. Teams will practice 1 day per week with games on the weekend. Training locations, dates and times are based on the coaches preference and local field availability.

All our recreational coaches are volunteers and will receive professional guidance and coaching material from our Recreation Director of Coaching.

We are always looking for awesome volunteer coaches, so if you are interested in coaching with the BC United recreational program, please indicate your interest to coach when you register your player.

REC PROGRAM (U9-U14) PROGRESSIVE COMPETITION

Beginning at the U9 age group (players born in 2015 and older), BC United recreational teams play in the Denver West League (DWL). Teams transition into the DWL leagues beginning at U9 because it can be difficult to provide appropriate levels of play for all teams with an “in house” league. Entry into the DWL league is an exciting step for most players and it provides a progressive level of competition.

The DWL league is designed for those players who are looking to play in a fun, low commitment, recreational league with minimal travel. Teams travel to away games in the Northwest area of Denver (Westminster, Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Golden) and play homes games at Pleasant View Soccer Complex. Most away games are within a 30-40 minute drive from Boulder.

Our U9-U14 teams are created based on player preference, coach preference, geographic locale, and birth year. In the DWL we have the flexibility to allow teams to have one or two older players on the team who are playing down, in order to allow friendship groups and school cohorts to play together on the same team. Players born in 2015=U9; 2014= U10 and so on.

Our awesome volunteer coaches help facilitate game play at training and at the games on Saturdays. The club will organize one day of training per week. Coaches may offer an additional second day of training if they would like to, however, this is up to the discretion of the coach and the coach is responsible for organizing and finding the field space. Teams are divided into Boys and Girls teams and teams will play games on Saturday. U9-U10 teams play 7v7 and U11-U14 teams play 9v9.

REC PROGRAM (U15-U19) PROGRESSIVE COMPETITION

Beginning at the U15 age group (players born in 2009 and older), BC United recreational teams will either play in the CSA Front Range League. This league designed to offer a progressive level of competition for players wanting to continue their soccer development in a fun, low commitment, recreational league with minimal travel. Our U15-U19 teams are created based on player preference, coach preference, geographic locale, and birth year. In the CSA League, teams are made based on birth year and they must play in the division of the age of the oldest player on the team (players are not allowed to play down in the CSA league).

Our awesome volunteer coaches help facilitate game play at training and at the games on Saturdays. The club will organize one day of training per week. Coaches may offer an additional second day of training if they would like to, however, this is up to the discretion of the coach and the coach is responsible for organizing and finding the field space. Teams are divided into Boys and Girls teams and teams will play games on Saturdays. U15-U19 teams play 11V11.

Travel time to away matches for the CSA league may 30-60 minutes as there are often fewer teams in the upper recreational age groups.
