The BC United Academy represents the highest standard of play and dedication in BC United. This Academy Program is designed for the most talented and committed players to receive high-quality training in an environment where enthusiasm for and a commitment to the game is nurtured and rewarded.
Within the U13-U15 Academy age groups, players are continuing along their developmental path toward becoming an elite youth player. All of the habits, attitudes, and playing standards introduced earlier in their careers are heavily reinforced as they work toward taking the next step in their soccer career by progressing through the ranks at BC United.
The U16-U19 levels in the Academy, players are prepared technically, tactically, physically, and psychologically to compete at the very highest level. The balance between development and end product is more evident here as we prepare our teams for successful playing careers in college and potentially beyond.
The intention is to limit the number of participating players to approximately 36 players per age group (unless unique circumstances present themselves). Players are offered the opportunity to accelerate their development by competing on a weekly basis in the highest appropriate CSA league and participate in various tournaments including College Showcases and State/Presidents Cup(s).

USL-Academy (Spring & Summer) – Top performing U15-19s from within the club
Elite Academy League (Winter & Spring) – U13-19 Academy Steel teams
ECNL Regional League (Year-Round for U13 & U14 / Spring for U15-U19) – U13-19 Academy Steel teams
Colorado Soccer Association State League (Year-Round for U13 & U14 / Spring for U15-U19) – U13-19 Academy Gold & Silver teams

Come Fall 2023, Boulder County United will be participating in various platforms within the Boys Academy Program. Our Academy Steel teams will represent the club in both the Elite Academy League & ECNL Regional League. Our Academy Gold & Silver squads will represent us in CSA league play.
ECNL Regional League will be the local platform that our U13-19 Academy Steel teams will participate in. We will compete in the Mountain Division, along with 7 other Colorado clubs. This will be year-round for the U13s & U14s, and in the Spring for our U15-U19S).
The Elite Academy League will continue to be our top National Platform. We will continue to be part of the Southwest Desert Conference, along with clubs from Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado.
Lastly, the USL-Academy will provide our top performing players from U15-U19 to compete in a top quality professional platform in the late Spring & Summer seasons. We compete in the Mountain Conference along with teams from New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Colorado.
We believe that with all three of these fantastic platforms, our boys have numerous resources in which to help them continue to reach their fullest potential. We are thankful for these opportunities provided by each!
