About Mitchell:

Mitchell, a Colorado native, grew up in Franktown and began playing soccer at 4 years old. He played in Castle Rock for his club soccer and at Ponderosa High School before going to Doane College in Nebraska and playing there for 4 years.

He then decided to pursue a dual degree from Shenandoah University in Virginia, and he graduated in 2014 with a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In school, Mitchell did an internship with DC United of MLS and gained exposure to the professional side of the sport and even traveled to Panama with the team.

From there, he spent 5 years working in Southern California as a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer.  He also started his coaching career at Huntington Beach High School in the women’s program and he now holds his USSF D license.

Now back in Colorado, Mitchell has joined BC United both as a coach in our competitive and academy programs, as well as our Athletic Trainer. You will find him at all our EAL and DPL events, Boulder Cup tournament and WPSL games, as well as out and about most weekends at Pleasant View.

When he’s not on the soccer field, Mitchell works as a Physical Therapist in Boulder at Colorado Sports Physiotherapy. He lives in Westminster with his wife, Melissa, their two cats, and their newborn son!

About Zac:

Zac is a Boulder native who grew up playing for BC United (then FC Boulder). He played collegiate soccer at the DIII level at the University of Puget Sound where he was a three year captain and two year all conference player. After graduating from college, he travelled to Sweden to pursue a professional career but was forced to return due to injuries.

Zac graduated from the University of Puget Sounds with a BS in exercise science and a neuroscience emphasis. He is certified with the NSCA as a Strength and conditioning specialist and holds a USSF D license. He has coached both boys and girls between his time at FC Boulder and Real Colorado Edge and worked to implement speed and agility training programs within the teams.

He has worked with athletes across all ages to increase both their technical skills, understanding of the game, and decision making on the ball as well as their physical abilities. It is Zac’s knowledge and background in soccer that allows him to prepare players for the physical demands of the sport while keeping sports performance engaging with use of the ball in training.
